Stan has lived in the area all his life, but is still amazed how people perceive rural life is different.
Stan was educated at Whitchurch Grammar School and farmed at Egerton Farm, Cholmondeley until his retirement. He is married to Barbara and has two children and four grandchildren. He chaired the Malpas branch of the NFU for a number of years and was a member of Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council representing the Peckforton ward from 1983 until it was replaced by Cheshire East Council.
Stan has endeavoured to attend all Parish Council meetings in the Wrenbury ward and together they have had some success and also some disappointments on planning issues. The Parish Councils are a vital part of the link with Cheshire East. Urban councillors find it difficult to understand how the countryside works, and he has therefore had to fight hard for rural issues.
