Councillor for the Bunbury Ward covering Acton, Alpraham, Aston-Juxta-Mondrum, Bunbury, Calveley, Cholmondeston, Church Minshull, Henhull, Minshull Vernon, Poole, Stoke, Wardle, Wettenhall, Woolstanwood & Worleston
Michael Jones says, “It is an honour to have been selected to represent the Conservative Party for Bunbury in the approaching local elections. If I am elected I will make it my purpose to represent all the electorate of the ward and work for them. I will not take their support for granted.
It is my intention to use my experience and apply a business-like approach to getting things done for the residents of the ward. In an place that is lovely as Bunbury and its surrounding area it is easy to miss the fact that all is not always well. I believe that, in addition to defending that which we value about the area, there are real improvements that can be made. I am committed to listening to local residents, I will continue to try to meet them personally whenever I can and I will do my utmost to keep them informed of my efforts and about matters that affect them.
In the referendum on the changes to voting in future general elections I will campaign vigorously against the AV vote. It is a system that gives grossly dis-proportionate power to fringe groups. It cannot be right that a voter for a party such as the BNP should have his or her vote counted repeatedly while votes for the serious parties only count once!”
