Helen Weltman

Councillor for Davenham & Moulton

I have lived in the area for more than eight years, working hard as your elected Councillor since 2008 (with an exemplary attendance record at council meetings). I am also currently a Governor at Kingsmead Primary School and Sir John Deane’s College. I am married with two children. My eldest daughter attends the County High School, Leftwich and my youngest daughter is at Moulton County Primary.

During my time as a Councillor I have been involved in a number of issues, representing the interests of local residents.  As a member of a Planning Board, I am keen to see only appropriate development within villages.

The building of the new Riversdale Bridge involved taking into account residents’ views on the design of the bridge and I am glad that it is being actively used.

In the interests of our community I voted against the siting of a waste incinerator plant in the area and remain firmly opposed to such plans, putting public health interests first.

Should you re-elect me, I will continue to represent the interests of all local residents on important issues that arise.

Cheshire West & Chester Council was formed on 1st April 2009 under Conservative Leadership and we have been working hard on your behalf, saving over £50m, investing circa £13m into looking after the elderly and the most vulnerable young people in our communities. These savings mean Council tax has stayed below inflation, and this year we will freeze Council Tax.

We have actions in place to further reduce waste and inefficiencies and free up cash to invest in building first class facilities you have asked for, such as sports facilities, improving our roads and pavements, investing in our school buildings.

The results achieved by our schools have exceeded the national average and we have secured millions of pounds of funding for two new academies.
