The Council was formed on 1st April 2009 under Conservative Leadership and we have been working hard on your behalf, saving over £50m, investing circa £13m into looking after the elderly and the most vulnerable young people in our communities. These savings mean Council tax has stayed below inflation, and this year we will freeze Council Tax.

 We have actions in place to further reduce waste and inefficiencies and free up cash to invest in building first class facilities you have asked for, such as sports facilities, improving our roads and pavements, a theatre for Chester and investing in our school buildings.
