About Us
The Constituency was created in 1983. From then until 1999 the seat was held by the Conservative MP, Alastair Goodlad who resigned on being appointed the UK’s High Commissioner to Australia. The ensuing by-election was won by Stephen O’Brien, who has held the seat since.
Within the Constituency there are a number of Councillors that serve on Cheshire East and Cheshire West & Chester Councils.
The Association's objectives are for the promotion and well being of Conservative causes throughout the Constituency.
The Association is run by a management team that is totally voluntary, unpaid and elected at the Annual AGM. This team has a Chairman, Treasurer and a number of Deputy Chairmen who have specific responsibilities. It is underpinned by an Executive made up of two members from each of the Branches.
The only paid personnel are Jenny Owen (Branch Liaison Officer) and Lynn Stocks (Organising Secretary) who deal with the day to day administration, fundraising etc.
Life in the Association is not all about politics; in fact far from it. Most of the time it is about having fun with others who have a similar outlook on the way the country and county should be run. To see more about the fun side have a look at our diary of Events. To learn more about a branch near you look at Local Branches.
If you share Conservative views we would like to hear from you so why not contact us.
An objective of this web site is to keep it as vibrant and current as we can so come back on a regular basis to see what we are doing
