Rural Vandalism
Concern about rural vandalism and crime are central to Councillor Ann Wright's work for her community and it is close to the hearts of many rural residents too. Ann came across the sorry sight of this vandalised telephone box very recently and within minutes she was reporting the damage to the relevant authorities.
She said, "This sort of small-minded, nasty attack on things that we all care about makes me so cross. If the petty criminals get away with this sort of thing who knows what they will do next. I urge everyone who sees this sort of criminal damage to report it to the police and to get a 'crime number'. The police cannot be expected to know everything without our co-operation and in an evidence backed culture they will not allocate resources to areas where there are low levels of reported crime. Please report crime so that we can all fight it!"
